Scopus (Elsevier)
Description |
Scopus is a source neutral abstract and citation database curated by independent subject matter experts. Scopus primarily covers peer-reviewed journals in life sciences, social sciences, physical sciences and health sciences. It covers three types of sources: book series, journals, and trade journals. Scopus gives four types of quality measure for each title; those are h-Index, CiteScore, SJR (SCImago Journal Rank) and SNIP (Source Normalized Impact per Paper). Scopus generates precise citation search results and automatically updates researcher profiles. Access notice: Due to budget restrictions, the University will not be renewing its Scopus license. Scopus will no longer be available to the UVic community as of January 1st, 2025. As an alternative, please use Web of Science or OpenAlex (an open-source alternative). UVic Libraries is reviewing alternative databases to assist with systematic and scoping reviews. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Dean Seeman, Director of Collection Management Services (dseeman@uvic.ca). |
